NYC: CITY OF DREAMS

Life is too short to not follow your dreams, and Lyle’s dream has always been to be a writer in the film industry. His passion for storytelling is all-comsuming. So when he told me that he wanted to switch from filling out law school applications to making a movie that summer and applying to film schools, all I could do was encourage him to follow his passion. It wasn’t an easy decision, especially considering that I was three-months pregnant at the time, but I believed him. So I wasn’t all that surprised when he was accepted into Columbia University’s graduate film school, though I was a little overwhelmed about moving to New York City. We both grew up in the same small-town in California, but New York had always been a place we had imagined living, though just maybe never with an infant and a 70 lbs. Goldendoodle. But we sold what we couldn’t take with us, bought a tiny apartment in Manhattan, and all moved out to the Big Apple just six months after Nora was born.

Hi, I'm Amber Parsons

It’s nice to meet you! Along with being a wedding and lifestyle photographer, I’m also a wife and a mother. Most days you can find me in sweat pants with messy hair working from bed as my two-year old daughter and golden doodle run around our cozy apartment. When I’m not working, I love to be outdoors and on little adventures with my family. We only have one life, I believe in making it count, keeping it real, meeting new people and singing at the top of your lungs with the radio up and the windows down.
